Signing in

Getting into your account, changing your language, and what to do when you cannot get in.

Signing in for the first time

Someone — your farm owner, your exporter, or a SoftFarm administrator — creates your account and sends you an email invitation. The invitation is valid for seven days.

  1. Open the invitation email and tap the link inside it.
  2. Choose your password. Pick something you will remember. You will need it every time.
  3. Sign in at the address for your app:
    • Farmers: grow.softfarm.co.ke
    • Exporters: xport.softfarm.co.ke
If the link has expired

After seven days the invitation stops working. Ask whoever invited you to send a new one — it takes them a moment.

Signing in with Google

If your email address is a Google account, you can tap Sign in with Google instead of typing a password. It is the same account either way.

If you forget your password

  1. Tap "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen.
  2. Type your email address and submit.
  3. Check your email for a reset link. It is valid for one hour.
  4. Choose a new password and sign in with it.

If the email does not arrive, look in your spam folder first. If it is still not there, the address on your account may be different from the one you are checking — ask your farm owner or exporter which address they used.

After five wrong passwords

Your account locks for 15 minutes. This protects you from someone else guessing their way in. Wait, then try again — or reset your password instead of guessing.

Working with more than one farm

If you work across several farms, all of them appear in the switcher at the top of the screen. Everything you see — crops, records, stock, money — belongs to the farm currently selected.

Check the farm name before you record anything

The most common mistake people make is recording a spray against the wrong farm because they forgot to switch. Glance at the name at the top before you save.

Changing the language

SoftFarm speaks English and Kiswahili. Change it from the menu at the top of the screen. It changes immediately, and it remembers your choice next time.

Compliance advice — the explanation of why a product is risky and what to do about it — is translated too, not just the buttons.

Who can do what

Not everyone on a farm can do everything. Your account has a role, and the role decides what you can see and change.

RoleCan do
OwnerEverything, including inviting people and removing them.
AdminEverything day-to-day, and manage other users.
UserRecord the daily work — crops, sprays, harvests, deliveries.

If a button you expect is missing, it is usually your role rather than a fault. Ask your owner or admin.

Keeping your account safe

  • Do not share your password. If someone else needs access, ask for their own account — it is free and it keeps the records honest about who did what.
  • Every change is recorded against the person who made it. That is what makes your records trustworthy to an inspector.
  • Sign out when you use a shared or borrowed phone.
